CODEMON is a student-led NGO based in South Korea and was founded in 2020. Our team consists of high school students from Korea and the United States, allowing us to act globally and spread awareness of the importance of educating underprivileged children.

With a deep passion for STEM, we strive to educate children of the scientific and technological skills that are essential in modern society.

Currently, CODEMON has chapters in Asia (South Korea and Mongolia) and Africa. Our team hopes to expand our influence across the world in the following years.

ELLIE HAN

MIT '23

I am a sophomore at MIT studying urban studies and planning.  As a girl raised under Korea's patriarchal society, I have dealt with boundaries that confined my career as a woman, especially by the older generation. To fight the stereotype, I have been working with many NPOs in Korea that focus on empowering less privileged young girls and women in STEM. Coding is on the rise due to increased pervasiveness of computer system and it is never too early for kids learn coding. As a mentor of Codemon, I will actively organize volunteer opportunities both inside and outside of Korea to pursue our mission.
